Check out Missions and Diamonds. Both great bows for the price. I will have to agree about the Mission bows and if I remember right Strother's is coming out with a bow in the same price range as the Missions but I do no think its out yet.

To each his own but I'd go ahead and drop the coin on the Alphamax that you liked........or a Maxxis.............or a Z7................or whatever feels best to you. In the grand scheme of things the price difference isn't that much and you will certainly get more out of the Hoyt/Mathews/Bowtech if you decide to sell it. If you decide to keep it then you aren't worrying about taking it in the shorts to sell your starter bow to get what you really wanted to begin with. Just my opinion.

I used to be a Matthews HATER til I shot my friend's Z7. I now have a choice to make between the Z7 and the Bowtech Destroyer 340 which I have yet to shoot. I'll let ya know what it is next week when I buy one of the 2!!

I bought a brand new PSE Stinger off of ebay fully loaded with arrows and quiver for 350.00 last year. Came with full paperwork and warranty. It shoots great and I'm satisfied with it. Check out Ebay before you buy from a shop!

Support your local proshop and get a good bow.
I'm not a huge Ebay fan anymore.

Support your local proshop and get a good bow.... Great piece of advice right there. The service and advice you get from a good shop will far out-weigh a few $$ you save shopping elsewhere. Plus you'll get meet some great folks that are flat out passionate about the sport.

A 2010 model used. Bows depreciate worse than just about anything on the market. You can get the newest and latest bow on tha market and not spend the crazy money that come with a new bow.

take a hard look at fred bear. the truth 2 can be had on ebay very cheap cause its last years model But for that price nothing can beat it. I got lucky and won one on bid for 275.00 brand new in da box. This thing is sweet. Ive shot quite a few bows and these new bows are very comparible to each other, very minor differences on high end models. Get bows in the 300.00 range and you can tell a difference, but the truth2 is a 700.00 bow that can be had for around 3 or 350 it gets my vote for quality at a low price.
