Just wondering if i had any fellow Thf'ers hunting close to me in Putnam.Ive been making that drive over there for about 8 years now and just thought i have probably passed some of you on the way. Anyways let me know.

We seem to have quite a few hunters here in Eastland Co. Any luck ou that way? (surely yes if you've been out there for 8 years)

just to the northwest of you about 4 miles west of moran. love it out there and should be a great year

used to hunt around there - about halfway between Putnam and Cross Plains. Did not have alot of luck down there - pretty much all shot up. Hope your place is better!

Hunt north of you in Calahan county closee to Moran, Mr.Buck I cannot be that far from you, about 4 miles south west of Moran. The other place I hunt is in Eastland

im in callahan county not far from finley rd. we have killed some good deer too. i love it down there. last year was kinda slow but my wife saw a cougar!there are some exotics around from time to time too. hope i see them so i can lay a couple down.

I'm north of albany, so closer to the moran folks.

kmon1, to be more specific we hunt the ranch just west of the weather ball off of the moran hwy. also lease a small tract about 4 miles NE of baird. last year was beyond slow but am expecting the complete opposite this year.

I hunted a few miles East of Putnum last year on the Eastland/Callahan County line. I saw 6 deer all year long. it sucked. The farmer claims that he used to always see deer up until last year. I promptly got off the lease for 2 reasons....1) didnt see any deer and 2) Baby due in 2 weeks and I wouldnt be able ot make it up there very much at all this year.

im ready for it regardless of last season. i get to get out of the city, tell stories and drink a beer or 2. if im lucky i will get a good deer. gotta love deer huntin. its all about the memories!

good looking deer. we have killed some nice ones over the years. ill try to get some pics up. dont see as many big ones as we used to. i think its from all the hunters that r around us now.

oh ya we have alot that arent real wide but have alot of length on them. found a 120 to 130 12 point dead last year. he would have been nice.

My neighbor has a lease 9 miles south of Putnam. Doesn't see much deer, but manages to get a nice buck each season. Over run with hogs. He went to the lease three weeks ago and captured 9 copperheads around his camp in under two hours.

nice looking deer. i have an 8 point that looks almost identicle to that one that the g2s get close together on. good luck this year to everyone. its gettin closer to go time everyday!

We hunt southwest of Putnam probably 15 miles, near Rowden. Been hunting there since the early 80's. Seems like it keeps getting better and better.
