I am looking for a game cam for a piece of land in East Texas. The only one that got good reviews on Cabelas was the Primos Truthcam (I am looking at either the 46 or the 60).

Any thoughts on these?

Thanks in advance,

Joel

Here is a link to the Cuddeback Capture IR. It is a little pricey, but has excellent pictures. I used one for all of last year and only had to change the batteries once.

IMHO you can buy better cameras than the Cuddeback for less money. Cudde has really let their game slip over the past year. They are running on name alone right now, I like Cudde I hate to see them slip like they have.
I reference this site several times a month for people looking for cameras. www.chasingame.com They have reviews that are changing daily for most of the major guys. They also have a forum section where people discuss their experience with just about every cam imaginable.

Cuddeback Capture is the best camera I have ever owned and I have owned a lot of them! I never wanted to spend the money on them but I am glad I did and now they are not priced so high.

I have a Predator Trailcams Traileye IR that I bought about 3 months ago. So far it has worked good, not as good on batteries as I had hoped. My buddy and I just bought two of the Primos Truth Cam X's that we are trying out. We just put them out Sunday so it's still way to early to say on them.

For the lower priced game cams, I don't think you can beat the Moultrie D40, that is now a D50. I have 5 of these and they work pretty good for the money.

For a more expensive game cam I like the Bushnell Trophy Cam. I have 2 of these and have had very good luck with them as well.

Hope so, just got two of them put out at the lease. Last year my D 40 shot several thousand pics of grass blowing. Panhandle sure is windy LOL.

My camera needs.
Inexpensive Under $100-had a moultrie I-40 stolen last year and do not want to lose another like that.
Long battery life. I live 500 to 550 miles from my cameras in Kansas.
Reliable.
Do not need a lot of bells and whistles. Prefer SD card units as I allready have a collection of them.

I am thinking the Primos I-35

Whats your thoughts, not trying to hijack the thread I figure all of this info would be helpful to you as well.

I use the moultrie's on my lease, picture quality is pretty darn good as for as I am concerned. Since it's normally brushy and woody most of my pics are less than 50ft away the picture come out great. Last year the 3 cameras I have took over 500 pictures, there were about 60 pic's that for some reason were black; out side of that almost all were good except for when it was raining or there was a lot of dew on the lense cover. Heading to the lease shortly to set them up.

I just got my first home brew camera and it's awesome the pictures are the best I have seen. I got my stuff from www.whitetailsupply.com the guy is slow but I got it and bought the camera off ebay total cost was 170.00 but it's way better than my cudde or wildgame cams. I will get two maybe 3 more before I stop LOL... But if you want a store bought buy the cudde.
