i dont understand it.... when ya load one in the chamber and fire it, it will eject the casing but will not grap another round, idk if its a problem with the bolt or something in the mag well. any ideas guys?

Sounds like magazine to me, but there's a guy here that knows everything and will be here to tell you I am wrong in a minute...
Does it do it with different magazines?

Like vernon said, probably your mags Get you a Pmag and see if that fixes it. More than likely it will. If you dont like the plastic mags and want to stick with steel you can buy Pmag replacement followers for your steel ones and that will make them feed nearly as good as a Pmag.

What kind of ammo are you using? Have you tried a different type of ammo? Factory made or handloads?

I know this sound stupid but are you sure the mag was all the way in and the the mag realease latched ? The reason I ask is, I took a buddy of mine to the range a few months ago and teh same thing kept happening and it took me a minute to notice the mag wasnt all the way in.
It could also be not feeding right if your using real heavy grain military type ammo and dont have M4 feed ramps although Ive only seen this problem in one rifle. What model Colt is it and does it have M4 feed ramps ?

Never have used PMC ammo, and I don't have an AR myself, so I may be the last person you want to hear from! A friend of mine has several AR's. He has one that for whatever reason refuses to cycle steel ammo, but cyles brass just fine. He has never taken the time to figure out why. We were out shooting the first day he got it. He had a case of steel ammo and it wouldn't cycle them from any of his dozens of magazines. I loaded up one of his mags with my brass ammo and it functioned flawlessly. He called the gunshop he bought it from and was told this wasn't that uncommon with AR's. I dunno' how legitimate that sounds. I would have taken it back. Firearms might function BETTER with certain ammo, but they should at least function with whatever ammo I choose to feed it, within reason.

try loading your mag about 27 vs all 30 and see some govt issues had probs with full mags and if its new it may just be a break in quirk
i am cancelling my subscription, i am tired of your issues!

I can guarantee you that your upper is NOT a Colt upper based on your photo. If you've established it is not a problem with your mags (I agree to start there first, as 95% of any feed issues I have had were because of a mag issue) then next address your BCG (bolt carrier group). Pull the BCG out of your upper (probably a lower-end Model 1 type if it is unmarked) and ensure that your bolt and extractor slides in and out and oil it if needed. ARs are easy to work on and troubleshoot if you have problems, so don't be discouraged.
