Beretta makes a waxed cotton game belt that I'm trying to find on sale. Cheapest I can find is $80
the thing about baiting is, even a rookie hunter could have a 170 bird season if they bait holes

I use a vest but I don't wear it.... Hangs from a tree or t-post just to hold the birds. It will be 16 years old this season.

get the belt bag if you can. if you must have a vest, get one with mesh back, they can get hot quick.

I'm just wondering what kind of vest/belts some of yall are using. After seeing some of the 'dove hunting checklists' I don't know how yall get by without full WEB gear and a sled.

I used a quail unlimited vest for the longest time.
You're going to be sweating anyway might as well wear a vest especially if you walk around at all. I had a belt bag, but kept having shells fall out when I leaned over to pick up doves, etc.
I also like being able to toss an extra box of ammo in the game bag on back so I don't have to run back to the truck for shells if my nephew needs extra.

yeah the bags around the waist are much better. All my shells always fall out of my vest when I reach down to pick up a dove really gets irritating

Vests are too hot and sometimes get in the way when mounting the gun(for me at least).

all you need is a cooler! you can put all the important stuff in it including your birds just remember to bring a plastic bag feathers and water dont mix well. it doubles as a seat and you can fit 15 shells in your pocket! if we were all that good!

Ah if only we all had the luxury of a dove spot where we could sit in one place all day

I hunted with the belt with bags hanging off it for years and hated it. The weight of shells and birds always tugging on your pants, when you sit down you sit on your birds. Next I tried a vest and it was too hot. Finally I found as suspender type that has a mesh on one side and camo material on the other side of the game pouch, two bags for shells on the front and a buckle like a ski vest. Plenty cool and the suspender straps supports the weight of birds and shells from your shoulders not your pants and when you sit down you don't sit on your birds. JMHO Had it too many years and cut all the tags off so I can't tell you who made it.

i like the bird bags myself, but academy has a great selection of vests.

I personally have a belt from cabelas but my dad swears by a cheap green backpack from wal-mart and swivel bucket thats older than I am. The backpack will hold a lot of birds and shells in the side pockets, shears etc. I find the vest too hot.

I also have a Cabelas Bird Bag. I went to their web site today to post the link to it on here, and coldn't find it, as if they don't have it anymore. But it's great. Even has a water bottle holder.

I couldn't find it either this year but here is a great Mojo deal, a belt with the mojo included in its own harness, a spot for a limit of dove, and a water bottle holder.
