Anyone thinking about hunting north of Uvalde, about 25 miles up hwy 55, on a lease run by Carl Esser should know that out of about 20 hunters on his four adjacent leases of around 4,000 acres, I can only recall a couple doe and a couple hogs being killed.
If you like to look at hundreds of goats and sheep, then this would have been a great spot for you to aimlessly spend your hard earned money. I had feeders and feeder pens destroyed by his lovely goats and sheep.
Goat/sheep lovers need only apply............................
.... This place sounds and looks like a great place even carl seems to be a good o boy! I know i was there four years ago! He tell`s you there lots of deer and hogs he shows you some deer horns that were found. he say that he will plant oats ! Not one word that comes out of his mouth is true ! BTC the feed pens you see in the first part of the lease were the camp is (500 ac.) I put them in We paid 1,500 a gun @ 17 hunters. There were no goats and sheep on the place just two or three horses and a few cows that look like there were on there last leg. The next weekend we went up with our blinds and there were hundreds of goats and sheep on the place. We put up our feeders filled up with corn two or three weeks later we went back and under the feeders in the feed pens was bright yellow with a a great looking corn crop ! I ask carl were all the deer are he said its to early yet give it some time they will be here. He talk just like he was your best friend. All the hunters had corn crops growing in there feed pens and not one deer track ! on this 4000 ac. The day before opening day Carl had a chopper flying tree top high and dogs running all 2000 goats and sheep in to the front part of this place but it was raining and could not get in with the trucks to load them up. deer feeders were torn up and they went over these pens like nothing some of them were getting hung up and left for dead. By now everyone was piss off and Carl was no were to be found. we try to do something about this guy but when you sign the papers he has its lock up. He is not the land owner and i just can`t believe they let hem do this every year to good hard working people. The other day i heard of a guy that buys deer horns and throws them all over the land so that people would think there a lot of deer on the place not sure if this was hem or not but i would`nt put it past hem. Im sorry BTC that he got to u too I try to spread the word about this guy as much as i can! I hope everyone reads this. Thanks, Shane P.S On 4000ac. 17 hunters not one deer was seen all season long !!!!!!

I know several areas around the Uvalde area in past years were hit by Anthrax..So that may be the cause of no deer..No matter he should not lease and then place livestock unless there was written agreement..
