I'll fire as many as I want if I think I can hit em. But not many over head shots on tanks as they just come in.

In my first season I would fire three times and miss all three times.
One hunt last year I fired once and got three greenheads.

man you spend all year training the dog reading up, some even get in better shape to make the long hikes and you spend an insaine amount of money to be there "in the moment" so WTH NOT!!!
P.S. I am as broke as anyone most of the time but I never think about how much it cost me to pull that trigger, If i did I would prolly give it up entirely.

Firing off your third shot in frustration is really like shooting your load too soon. Save that load for when the timing is right.
Myself, I drop two birds (sometimes more) with the first couple shots, then fire off the third shot as a warning to other ducks. I am the most interesting skyblaster in the world.

If you shoot the first one on the water the 2 and 3 shot have a higher success rate.

Did it a few times at some Snows passing by at what seemed like 35,000 feet. My buddy, Danny/VaWaterfowler, actually got one. Dang bird took about a minute to fall into the pond.

Heck, last year I shot three times every time and still missed
I'd ask him if he's pregnant. He missed a s__tload of periods. I'll take "things that look like a uterus" for $200 Alex.
