Guilty as charged! Especially in the 2008 season I think we shot 6 boxes of shells and killed 3 ducks. Neither I or my son had a clue as to how to lead, range, and properly set up a shotgun to get the desired results. 2009 was a total turn around. I think we shot 1+ of a box and killed 6 ducks and hit most of the ducks we shot at. We were still shooting to far though. I think our numbers would have been a lot better in 2009 if it weren't for that. Shooting over open water can make it a challenge to guess how far they really are.

I have done it. Try not to for the ducks and the wallet.

I only like to grab three at a time from my pocket so that last one in the chamber's gotta go somewhere- might as well sacrifice it to the duck gods

Private who cares (if you hit them), public I disagree. Hit them is probably worse on public if other groups are hunting the same area, working the same birds, because then everyone will will start skybusting. I watch some guys last season knocking them down from 65/70 yards away, they probably had full choke 3.5 inch #2s and had no intention in decoying them, they were great shots, but no one else with IC #4 had a chance, that makes skybusting worse, jmo.

I am too much of a cheap arse to waste a shell. I prefer to yell "fly on you dead son of *&%^$!"

Sometimes I fire all three... when I think I have a chance of hitting him. I try to let them get good and close so it doesn't matter. If I do bust at some high flying speed deamon b/c they are just not working my sperad and just flying by...I have no problem with it. Not like he was gonna stop on the first place.

I am pretty confident in my abilities. Also the only time I will stretch the shot is when they are overhead and vitals are exposed.
