I'm looking for a good soft side or hard case for my AR.. Does anyone have any suggestions? Overall length is right at 39 1/4" so I would think a 42" case would work?
Thanks for your input..
I really hate to do what I am about to do, because it will be very painful for you.

I picked up this case from the Sportsman's Guide: http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/cb.aspx?a=406459It is a Voo-Doo tactical case, even though it doesn't say it on the website. Seems plenty sturdy and has lots of pockets for ammo and what-not. I have a 16" barrel on my rifle and I think I picked up the 36" case.

Check with Ross Precision Gunworks he is on the forum. I got a nice 36" tactical case from them and it was inexpensive and a nice case. I will post a pic tonight.

MidwayUSA has some private-labeled cases that I really like. I paid around $17.00 before shipping and my 20" AR fits perfectly in the 42" case. Good luck.
