I sighted in my newest barrel, the .204 Ruger, this morning at the range. I have the ProHunter model w/ 28" bbls and the .204 is topped with a 6.5-20x44 Weaver shooting factory Hornady 32 gr. VMax ammo. On paper at 25 yds then dialed it in @ 100. It was about 3" high @ 100, 2" high @ 200 and then shot a .825" group (3 shots), .5" low @ 300. Every other bbl I have will shoot at least a 1.5" group @ 200 yds including the muzzleloader. Is this the norm for accuracy on the Pro Hunter bbls? Who else loves their Encore/Pro Hunter/Endeavor, rifles or pistols?

I like mine. As always, there are people that dislike this rifle platform. But the bulk of the reviews I see are very positive.

I was happy with mine and both barrels would stay sub MOA with hand loads. They don't hold up real well in a house fire though, that's my only real complaint!

I've always wondered how this works since I've never seen one up close.
So if you get an Encore, then all you literally need is another barrel (excluding any scope considerations)? When I see barrel for sale, it looks like a barrel only. It looks like you use the rear stock, reciever (which contains the trigger group), and the foregrip. Is that right?
thanks in advance for the clarification.
I'm a dude who likes long barrels!

You can buy a frame for about $300-400 bucks..if you shop around. or you can by a combo for about $500-600
once you have the frame, the barrel is attached via a single pin, remove pin change barrels.
All scopes are mounted directly to the barrel.
Hope this helps
The main advantages of the Encore systems, is multi-options on calibers and an much shorter rifle then a bolt or lever witht eh same barrel length... due to the the lack of an action.

LOVE Mine! I've had 30-06, 223, 25-06, 7 mag and .300 barrels. Still have the 7-mag and 223 heavy barrels & both shoot great.
K.R., you are correct. You only need to remove 2 screws (forearm) and a pivot-pin (in front of trigger-guard) to change barrels. Takes me @ 60 seconds on the range.
I know there are some that just don't care for these, and that's O.K. I think guns are like scotch, trucks, and women...it all comes down to personal taste. I asked to see one at Sportsman's Warehouse simply because I had been seeing so many of the hunting show celebs using them. I shouldered it for the first time and knew without a doubt I was leaving there with one.

I have a quick question regarding the Encore Pro Hunter. If I find one for sale that is built as a muzzleloader online can I have it shipped directly to me?

Here's another question guys. Anyone here have a way to attach a harris bipod to one besides drilling another slingstud. On the prohunter it's mounted on that little ridge and the Harris bipod I have won't attatch.

Good question on the bipod. I've always used shooting sticks that I made out of dow rods.

Its really close to the barrel when it is up and out of use.

get a standard encore forarm that is made for the factory heavy contour... you lose the tennis shoe looking grip thingy but make it alot better for bipod if you want one...

I could be wrong, but I think not.....It's the frame and not the barrel that detemines whether it can be shipped or not as a muzzleloader.

Love my Pro Hunter too!
I think knowing that if you need a follow up shot it will take a bit more time than with a bolt or auto gun, you take more care with your shot placement. That combined with the accuracy results in quick kills.

Thanks bigdaddy, I missed that post. I am going to try it on a couple of guns. I guess it will work on a wood stock as well. How durable is it? Which hobby store has the webbing?
