While you guys are at it, make me up some of those Loony Tunes shells that have the little flag that pops out and says "BANG!" when they go off...

I have loaded some for a friend and my son. I use Remington gun club hgulls, 36 grains of Alliant steel powder, 1 once steel BB's, sam 1 wad, win 209 primer, close to 1700 fps. Runs about $9 a box. Its a killer out to 50 yards if you do your part and put the bird in the patern.

Thanks Mike...I shot some recently and while I haven't patterned them yet I was impressed with how they felt and broke birds (#7's). That is pretty darn close to the recipe I was given if not dead on.

Judd,

You loaded steel shot and tested them on clays?

Pretty good idea. Some hot 7 shot will definitely kill teal this Sept.

I could use some of those as well, let me know the cost.

Glad this came up. I was given a handloader and was wandering if it would be worth it or not. I need some help learning how to do it tho since I have never reloded shells before.

I used them and was not that impressed with hot 7's on doves. I had better luck with the 6's on dove and would recommend 6's or even 5's for teal. 2cents

A buddy of mine gave me some to try. I think I am going to do it. I need to get my sizemaster from a buddy but I don't see any reason not to after shooting those.

These boys tell me that you're a crackshot, so I'm gonna take your advice on that one.

Well, I used to think I was until I got a dose of reality Saturday at Fossil Pointe. grin

IMO, if your close enough to kill teal with 7's, it's going to look like swiss cheese and your going to have to dig pellets out of the meat. (I doubt you would get compleet passthrough of #7's on teal) I don't recall finding any 5's in the teal I shot and that's how I like it. (alot easier on the teeth that way wink )
