It will be a pen raised bird hunt. Might check Deacon's Point Outfitters. I dont know if they can handle that big a crowd... but I have heard good things.

You might want to take Acuna's advice. You're going to be hard pressed to find open field hunting because of the drought and no wild quail. Are you restricted to that particular area?

ranchswaper - we don't mind you mentioning your place as an afterthought here at THF, but please don't SPAM us. Have a little respect.

For what it is worth I hunt real close to that area and their isn't many Quail at all. We haven't hunted them in 6 years, have the perfect habitat and even protein feed them and we still don't have much to speak of.

I know it sounds like sour grapes but we are already in trouble for having any quail this season again. That was the forecast from last year. We gotta have some rains at the right time. Pray

Well, thanks for the kind words there Kirk. Hope you and yours are well. Here's my advice. While I would love to do something for you I am not really geared up for that size group, especially this late in the year. I've done it and pulled it off nicely, but I think there may be better options available. I would suggest giving Mike Tyson at www.uplandbirdhuntinginc.com a look. His place in Lake Victor, about 20 minutes from Marble Falls, to the north of Burnet. Mike is a great guy and I know he will help if he can. Nore of a gun club out there with a big clubhouse and 5 stand and staff. My deal is smaller in scope. Just a bunch of birds, some great dog work and me. Not a lot else. But we're getting there!! Good luck, Tim

Just read your post again. I didn't catch that your were looking at October. I still think Mike may be a better option for a group of that size. More options and amenaties. However, if you're looking for no frills and a mess of birds give me a call. I'd love to talk. Tim Milligan Deacon's Point Outfitters 512-300-7118 www.deaconspoint.com
