Ok, I am in need of help. I am looking to buy my first Hunting Rifle. My husband is a hardcore hunter and I just use his BUT! I want to have my own. I am seeking advice on who a good maker is. I use my husbands Rock River Arms AR-15. I am looking for a bolt action. Probably in a 7mm-08, or .270. Any ideas?

As a matter of fact, I DO hunt like a girl!

Unless you are going to be hunting Cape buffalo I would think a Savage 243 would be a good all around rifle for you. That is what I use but the longest shot we will get on our lease is 70-100 yards max.

Out of those two i say a 270. I dont really care for the 7-08, but like said above a 243 is a good choice

the 25.06 is a great all around.
it is light recoil, flat shooting, and ammo is reasonable

Stuff my dad said in the deer blind

"I can dive deeper and come up drier"
"did you do that?"

I will second the 25.06, that is what my step-mom shoots and she can lay them down with it.
