Ok.... correction on above post...

You MUST have a doe permit unless you take a doe during archery season.

There is no requirement for the TPWD public lands permit (it's national forrest)

During firearm season you have to use either shotguns or muzzleloaders.

You MUST wear orange during General Deer season. Hat and Vest both required.

You MUST have your Hunter's Education Card on you at all times. (You probably will get checked at least once during the course of a weekend. There are forrest rangers and game wardens out there)

No feeding or baiting of any kind is allowed.

Any more questions?

Unless you have a doe permit, all you can shoot is 1 buck. Don't forget Antler Restrictions apply out there. Inside spread has to be AT LEAST 13 inches.

You can use grunt calls and stuff like that, just nothing electronic.

there is also another place better i think out in roanoke off of marshall creek off of denton highway. This place is closer to the city and hold fewer deer but way bigger bucks. I own 2600 acres out by decatur and a lot of my buddies hunt the grass lands. It just sucks cuz you have no control over other hunter. They will steal your set up and walk up on you where you are sitting or whatever. Just not a safe enviornment

You would need a permit from COE to hunt it.

Not a fan of the grasslands either... way to many people hunting it.

I hunt 5 miles away from one of the bigger tracts... Not bad country for deer, but they feel pressure pretty easy.
