I am looking for one and maybe two hunters for a deer lease in Goldthwaite, TX. It is a 650 +/- acre lease with a pond and live creek. This is a year round access lease. It is family friendly. The lease is close to town and has a cabin on property with running water and satellite tv. The cost for the lease is 1500.00 dollars and that includes your stand and feed money. The only thing you need to do, along with the other hunters, is assist in whatever work needs to be done and hunt. There are 6 feeders and each feeder has a blind and bow stand on it. Three of the blinds are at least a two person blind.
You need to be a responsible, experienced hunter and be able to follow basic safety rules in place on the lease. If interested call Robert at 214-632-8272

I have no picks. I am a paid hunter on the lease and run the lease. There are a total of 6 spots on the lease but this year we are trying to get by with 5 (reason why I say "maybe two"). There will also be a 15-30 acre food plot depending on cost and funding and rain.

Robert,
What all kind of animals does this lease hold besides deer (turkey, hogs, birds)? What would you say is the average class of deer on the property? Is there any kind of management program in practice? When was the last year it was hunted and what was collected. Sorry for all the questions, this place sounds very interesting.
Thanks,
Gunnar

We have Deer, Turkey, and some hogs. There are dove as well but we never really hunt them. I don’t score deer but this is not a trophy lease. I have seen bucks on here that will make you shake and plenty of bucks that are "Nice". We have pulled 10 and 12 points off in the past.
As far as management goes, we cleared a lot of does a few years ago and started protein year round. Last year I think there was only one buck taken. The rest are does(maybe 10).
This is a family lease and we are there to enjoy it and make sure everyone has a good time. We have some basic harvest rules in place but now with the state law the way it is, It is almost in line with our rules.
If you have any more questions you can call me

Hey Whitewing the woman you are asking about is Nancy Strickland. I believe that the Stillwells just sold their property that is east of her. Are you hunting near there?

Horton? like Jack Horton's family? Sorry to hear about your grandpa. I made the mistake of sending Kevin Stillwell a picture of the gate when I was driving by. I didn't know Don had just passed away.
