I was curious of what the Win. Model 94 30-30's are going for these days? I bought one some time ago and have heard they've hit the roof. I can't find one anywhere and was curious if everybody was whording them or what. Just wondering???

They have hit the roof since Winchester went out of business.

I don't know how much they are going for, but if you check one of the auction sights like Gun Broker you can probably get a pretty good idea.

Winchester shut down their U.S. factory and discontinued the Model 94 and 70. However there will be shotguns and some rifles manufactured overseas under the winchester name.
As far as the value of a Model 94 it would depend on the variation and condition of the gun.
I have seen some of the lower end Model 94s with birch stocks still selling for less than $300 in mint condition.
The real value is in the Big Bore 94, the 22s, 9410, and the "pre-64".

"PRE-64" Refers to the Winchesters made before the year 1964 The best way to tell the difference in the Model 94 is by Serial #. If the # is below 2700000 than it is a PRE-64.
I dont know a whole lot about the differences in the new and the old, but I know they started cutting corners in the post 1964 era because they were losing money on every rifle they produced.

The last "Pre-64" Model 94 to leave the factory was about 2586000 (as estimated by factory records).
The first of the new Model 94 to leave the factory in 1964 started with 2700000.
That is why I say if the S# is below 2700000 than it is a "pre-64".

Here's a couple pics of mine. Unfortunately my Uncle gave it to me when I was a teenager and I was a dumba$$. It had never been shot at that point. Well.... I just had to shoot it right??? Wish I didn't. All in all, I think it has 80 rounds through it and is about 98% perfect. Hope it will be worth something 40 years from now. What do you think it's worth now? -Greg

Speaking of DUMBA$$, I guess you could say I am about eat up with it. My grandpa gave me his about 10 years ago, and he had owned it for 40 years or so. Anyways, someone I'm not gonna mention was hard up for money, and it was all I had at the time, so I let them pawn it. Never saw it again. Makes me sick to think about. Pawpaw doesn't know

BTW it was pawned at the shop on fort worth highway, across from the auction barn in weatherford. The owner used to be Barney. If anyone picked up a .30-30 there about 6 years ago (maybe longer) with a side mounted simmons whitetail 8 point on it, with a slight discoloration in the blueing on the action (from some kind of oil) I will gladly buy it from you.
