Ive seen that its not that hard, but I don't really feel like buying all the install tools...plus I don't have a vice.
Could it be done with just basic tools and no vice?

It's very simple and can be done without special tools and a vice. A spanner wrench for the castle nut is nice to have for buffer tube. Like cswilder says, go to ar15.com and it gives all the info you need. Good Luck, Road Dawg

Don't let brandon972 do it or he'll say everything you bought is not the best!!! and your not being honest with yourself!

Don't let brandon972 do it or he'll say everything you bought is not the best!!! and your not being honest with yourself! Are you personally high right now? Brandon is as knowledgeable as anyone here on ARs. Stags are decent guns no doubt, there are better options for the same or less money. Get it through your thick head. Is your user name "yukon95" an indication that you were born in 1995? If so, it would explain a lot about the nonsense you post.

I have built two with no vice, the only special tool I have is a combo Castle and Barrel wrench. Super Easy to do, and I did it all just from reading and watching online.

yukons comes gmc and 95 comes from the year it was. i love the way you'all respond to remarks! some of these topics are always the same! and you fall for the reponses i make which makes it so interesting! i love a laugh once in awhile! i own several stags, colts and some la rue's! what i have learned is not to ask what's best always ask what you recomend! i too love alot of different brands, it's what you prefer! some people always just say to me "what happened to stag all the way?" it's a famous quote here on the forum now! by the way i was born way before 95!

We're all glad that you love a laugh once in a while. I, personally, would like to teach you the proper use of the exclamation point, that way we all won't think you're just screaming at us.
