With sufficient moisture on the ground from early spring rains, five to seven days of heat won't hurt. But 10 to 14 days of heat is not good. Help may be on the way.
There is a cold front in Calif. and a tropical wave way down on the pacific side of central America, those two could merge in a week or so to draw up moisture to west and central Texas.

The heat is playing h&ll with my pup. Had to go to two meals, one early morning and one late evening. Just too hot for her to get excited about the noon meal. Hope we don't get prolonged 100s, it's not good for anything. Sending a two year old north for the summer and starting to wish I could go with her.

I believe it will be interesting to see if the RPQRR is able to identify hens abandoning nest in days of heat like today. I know we had great moisture through the spring and some of the area caught some showers this week but 107 degree days are not good.

Lying is lying. Don't bitch about one doing it and condone another. That's called hypocrisy.

I know what you mean, last week it was so hot, I saw squirrels fanning their nuts. Cows are giving evaporated milk, I saw two trees fighting over a dog....farmers are feeding their chickens crushed ice to keep them from laying hard boiled eggs. It's hot...........
