We spend a few days there each year, and Landrys is real good. Biga is good, and there is about every kind of food you can think of along the river. Stay away from Rio Rio. Good mexican food can be found at Mi Tierra, but it is not on the river, but it is close.

We got Landrys and Ruth Chris here in Dallas, what is the best Tex-Mex on the river walk? Or maybe another good steak house. Ate at Ruth Chris here in Dallas not too long ago, I was not impressed!

Go Li mitera or La Margurita in the market, you can take the shuttle from the river walk. It is real good and both owned by the same folks I believe.

Will be down there for one night with my wife and kids, so where should we eat? If ya get a chance stop by Dirty Nelly's, they're piano players are pretty good. I would caution taking the kid's in there.
Yes! A Weatherby does kill them deader.

If you want to stay on the Riverwalk, and eat Mexican, then Casa Rio is pretty darn good.
Mi Tierra, and it's surrounding Mexican Market, is very good and not far...

Are you absolutely set on the riverwalk? Probably. My wife booked a room down there, she wants to eat there, when it is not hunting season she gets what she wants.

The Palm is a few blocks off of the riverwalk. They have great food but they are pricey. Most of the riverwalk food is mediocre at best. I recommend Paisanos if you are going to eat on the riverwalk. They are a locally owned business. The best Tex-Mex food in town is not downtown. Enjoy your stay and please do not leave valuables in your car.

We drove down Sunday and went to Casa Rio that night, it was nice, thanks for the tips!!! We stayed at the Marriott and just walked down the river walk and there it was!! It was packed, the whole river walk was!! They said it would be an hour and half to be seated at Casa Rio, it took 30 minutes! Food was good, service was good, not the best but I did not expect the best. But I was pleased. We did the touristy riverboat barge thing afterwards, that was fun, now that event did exceed my expectations. I thought our tour dude did a good job explaining all the history, he really loved his city, the river, its history, and sharing it with others. I need to get me a cush job like that. Then we woke up and did SeaWorld today, got home to big D around 8:00, wheeeeewwww!!
