What do ya'll use to get rid of fleas for you pup, Mine is almost 8 weeks

Id take him to the vet and get the "magic" pill to get them off of him. It works in about 30 minutes. That will make him miserable quick. Flea shampoo will dry is skin out real bad.

You may try some Cedarcide on him (it's cedar oil) I get it at the organic garden center. I use it on my whole family and my pets.

Yeah, that magic pill does work. Just make sure you watch for tapeworms. If a pup bites and eats fleas, chances are there are tapeworms. You will see young tape worms in the feces that look like little pieces of rice. If you dog does get a tapeworm, no worries, there a magic pill for that too.

Quick fix (and temparary) wash him with Dawn dish soap.

I get Comfortis (a pill) from the vet it's expensive but works GREAT and FAST!!! I gave it to the dog, and as a bonus it worked on the cat and the carpets too.

Has he had his first shots yet? If not bring him in and they will get you rolling on all of that including dewormers.

Comfortis. My vet charges me $18 and you only need to buy it once a month. It kills all the adult fleas once they bite into the blood. You will notice a few fleas here and there on him after a couple of days, but those are just the new ones that haven't bitten yet. After a few months of treatment you will be flea free.

I have had 4 labs over the past 18 years. They have NEVER had Fleas.

Why? I keep the yards mowed, and their "areas" clean.

But, a teaspoon of Malathion in their bath water helps. Don't let them drink the bath water.

Creosote works well too.

Also, some of the cattle type fly control.

i usually use bayer tree and shrub, about 20cc for a fifty pound dog. run it down their back, chest and belly. if they get real bad I get the comfortis but it's ten bucks a dose, and with eight dogs it adds up.

I go with Comfortis too. But only give it after hunting and the fleas are bad. I bought a box last Feb. and have only used two. IT IS EXPENSIVE, but works in minutes literally. You can see them falling off if you put your pup on a white towel.
