ok yesterday I went dove hunting...and didnt see any birds..well doves anyway...well I have been shooting these super x winchester 2 3/4 shells in 7 1/2 shot. I shot at a couple sparows but missed they were I think between 20 and 30 yd. these shells should have no problem shooting that correct? also how far should I be leading them at say 25 yds. ?

40-50 yds is still in the kill zone. One of the main reasons we miss birds is because we shoot behind it. That usually means you didn't follow thru the shot. I can't tell you how many times I've shot the tail feathers out of a dove, when I'm doing that I know I didn't follow thru my shot. At 25 yrds. I'd have my gun right on the bird if it were a block shot or a pass shot.

get some paper or a posterboard and pattern your shotgun with different loads. then find a combo that works and then shoot some clays

follow though, is the swinging of the gun from behide the bird to the front of the bird and shooting as you swing though the shot. if you point and shoot your pattern is hitting in one place, during a follow though you are swinging the gun in a steady motion which leads to a shot string that covers left to right or side to side, which makes your pellets have a more chance of hit the target. hope this helps

The purpose of a warrior is not to reason with the enemy but to kill him.
