is your place close to bronte? ........caugh wes caugh............i dont think hunters education teaches ppl how to shoot. thats the key thing i think. learn how to shoot. even if the gun is dead on, if you dont know how to shoot then you can wound deer.

I know there are situations that are unfortunate mistakes. There is way too much shooting on the neighboring places next to me. Don't know where Bronte is? I've been lucky, so far none of my cows have been shot. Can't say that for 2 of my neighbors.

Saw a couple of idiots firing an AR15 into the woods this past weekend - knowing that they had no idea what was in the woods, just past that briar thicket.... But - I agree, know what you're shooting at and sight in that gun!!!

I agree, hunters education is just a beginning, but they don't teach folks how to shoot. Now if there was a qualification portion, kinda like the CHL...

That is what I was thinking when I said "must pass the test". Not only have to have a clue about hunting rules, methods, proper handling of the kill, how to shoot and gun safety..... I could go on and on with this one.

do you even know for sure that all those wounds you mentioned were gun shot wounds??? I don't see how seeing a wounded doe means somebody shoots "anything that moves". And even if one of the wounds on the deer was a gunshot, it is possible to shoot a deer and it get away. it does happen. Also hunter's ed doesn't make you a good shot.

Hunting is more to me than Antlers on the wall. It's more about the memories you make, and sharing those memories with friends, and family.
