I mean crap I feal like I belong in the water now at 5 am on the weekends and when it is raining or snowing or iceing. I hope I and the ducks can get over this. Same here. I soaked it all up this morning on the last hunt of this season and shared it with a couple of gentlemen from the forum.

Ducks didnt cooperate as well as we had hoped but we made the best of it and told a few stories from hunts past.

Thats what its all about, right there

I for one got a late start, but I'll be ready for next season. The bug has taken hold once again

I froze my arse off this morning! One of the coldest mornings of the year with wind blowing 15-20MPH and my hands completely numb. I got only one Gadwall but hey, I could have been working so I am not complaining.

I was working this weekend. Sigh... I put in my 24 days of hunting so I feel blessed in that regard. Still thinking about the conservation season in 2 weeks. Might try something new at the coast near Anahuac. Can we name lakes/areas now that the season is over?

I'm sad that it is over but non stop hunting since October, I am a little relieved. It is now time to uncover the boat and do some bass fishing. Time to start pre-fishing for the Texoma FLW Come on warm weather

You know one day one of us are going to meet up with you DON and it is not going to be a very nice meeting. I wish you would go find another place to haunt instead of this forum. Also prove me a liar and take me on a goose hunt and I will apoligize on this forum if I and so many others where wrong about you. You can contact monday thru friday @ 817-205-9999 7 am. --- 8:00 pm

Last hunt of the year turned out great...4 man limit by 730! We met up with some other people after and took a group picture...12 hunters...60 ducks..Including a mallard that was double banded...one band on each leg! I've never seen that before.

As for what I'm going to do now. Might get in a conservation goose hunt, turkey hunt in April once or twice, shoot some skeet...then count the seconds until Sept 1st.

I think I might take up reloading as a hobby. Load up some steel and bismuth for next year.

This season is only my 4th season duck hunting, and each season gets better and better, can’t wait for next year because I know it will even be better! This is actually my first season where I ended it with some in the freezer! It has been a great season, but I’m glad its over, I’m flat worn out, and that is a good feeling! Ready to spend more time with my wife and little girl! Man, my wife is so happy it is over too, have not seen her this happy in a while!

My 9 yr boy has really turned into a trooper. He has not hunted in 2 weeks because of other things going on, Saturday he could not hunt as much as he wanted too, wife had plans for him, but he woke up on his own 2:30AM to come into the kitchen and wish me good luck on my hunt. Today, I was able to take him out, 2:30AM he is up and out of bed as soon as he heard me up. I had a great spot picked out for him where I saw the ducks landing before, but the wind was not right, we had only 2 teal fly into our spread and we both missed, after that we froze our butts off, then we went and had BBQ at this joint I had picked out, and talked about how we were going to tear it up next year!

This off season me and my boy will hit a lot of clay, and ready to take my dog to the next level. This was my dog’s first season, and she did great, next year she will be much better!

I learned a lot on this forum this year and met some great folks!
