Ive got a fox pro fury. I keep seeing all these people post what they have killed with the exact same call. I have yet to kill anything... What is the proper way to use it. ie call time volume ect. What calls work best for you and what animals do they call. Me and a buddy have the whole lease to ourselves starting tom. and I want to try to bust some yotes

Start out low for the first 3 or 4 minutes then increase, if it is windy i start out pretty high and leave it high for awhile, if you see one coming in turn volume down a little

How big is the lease, their should be quite a few varmints in that area. I have hunted out that way and success. If you have any other questions let me know. You can pm me if you would like. What are all the sounds you have on your call?

ive wondered the answer to this exact question many times..... how long do you guys turn the sound off for after it has run 30-40 minutes?

Although I don't have near the experience as some who post here I think you can boil it down to two basic schools of thought on this one: 1) run it constantly for 30-40 minutes (what I do and it works for me) 2) run it for 5 to 10 minutes then turn it off for 5 or so then repeat for 45 minutes
Keep in mind, that a predator's hearing is much better than yours so adjust the volume accordingly (little higher if it's windy).
Either way, the most important things to remember are scent/movement control and patience!!! BTW, I also like to use a decoy to keep their attention.
Good luck! Scott

I've been told that it helps to have something to create some movement. Like the Mojo Critter or even a feather tied to a stick. This gets them to focus on something and come on into your target area. If they only hear sounds and have not visual, they will stay tight to brush etc.. This gives then the opportunity to spot you before you spot them.
I am wanting to get more into this myself and this is what other buddies of mine, that are sucessful, have told me. Makes sense to me

Another thing:
Don't just look upwind, they're clever, and will circle back on you and come up from the downwind side.

Last time I was down we used the grey fox pup distress and fox pup cottontail quite a bit and had great success with it.
We let it run constantly and the fox would lock up on the jack in the box and come in on a string.
I don't have a lot of experience with it down there but we started soft and increased the volume and then tapered it off. Total time on stand was probably 30-40min before trying elsewhere

i bought the foxpro spitfire, out of 6 hunts so far i've called in animals 4 of those days, all during the daylight 3 yotes at once around 1pm 2 foxes at once around 9am 1 fox around 10:30am 1 yote from two i spotted while turkey hunting around 830am
all came within minutes like less than 2. all of them. most of those days i kept hunting quite a while and saw nothing else.
if your hunting during the day, try to get into where your gonna set up as out of site as possible. the quiter you get in the better. set up somewhere a little elevated above where the caller is set to give you a good view. and stay still with slow head movement. i didn't even use a decoy on any of these hunts so im curious how much it might help! i've never used any scent spray or anything either, and i smoke. all those animals i called within 15-50 yards . the red fox pup distress and grey fox distress and lightning jack calls worked very well on the foxes i called in. lightning jack also has worked very well on yotes for me so far.
just started varmint hunting and i love it, its a blast! didn't have much success with mouth calls so i bought the foxpro, glad i did
