I am a avid Duck hunter from east tennessee and I will be relocating to the Waxahachie area in the next few weeks. Can anyone offer suggestions on where i could start looking for a place to hunt in this area?

Welcome DDG! I would just get on Google, check out the lakes in your area, then go to the TPWD website, click on the lake finder, read up about the lake, normally they don't talk about the hunting regs there, but they have the lake office phone number, call that number during regular bus hours, and they can tell what permits you need, get you hunting maps, etc... Most texas lakes you can hunt, and they all hold ducks!

I'd try Tenn if I was you. They don't make good football players so the hunting has to be excellent

Skybuster, We may not be able to produce good football players, but we sure can recriut em. Anyway, in my part of the state, the only waterfowl around is the ones that spend the day eating Doritoes at the parks and marinas.

I'm sure not one of the resident experts and don't want to just throw a wet blanket on all the hot info being given but don't the season end in 11 days? Just going by the "in the next few weeks" time frame given in the original posts. Be gentle with me if I've missed something. All this will certainly be helpful for next season.

I'm just tring to get a jump on next years season. I am well aware of the hard work that it takes to find a good place to hunt in a new area. The way I see it, I'll have all year to get it done.

you got a boat? if so call me when you get here my # is on my website www.retrievergamecalls.net Randy
I have a big 21' center console boat that i use for fishing and for pleasure. I'm not sure how much use it will be to me in that area. I also have a 12' flat bottom i use on small water to hunt from. I will be probably purchasing a bigger boat to use for duck hunting. Thanks for the offer
