I never have. There is just something about going to San Antonio that never brings up the thought of BBQ
Bartender, bring me anything except brake fluid, cause I don't plan on stopping!

very true. I've never heard of the place, but then again I have never stopped or paid much attention to the East side of town.

I ate at the bbq place on the river walk and it was awesome. Think it was called county line.

Curly skip the Texas Pride BBQ and hit the Home of Da Smoke. It is a hole in the wall that is not far from there but has the best bbq around. We do not live far from Texas Pride and we have only been there one time. There is much better out there.

In San Antonio or Austin, the County Line has the best BBQ and their sauce is good. Avoid Cooper's BBQ in the Hill Country if you have an another option. If you're doing a road trip, and are in the area at eating time, the best BBQ is in Taylor or Lockhart. Each town has several places, and they're all good.

where is "home of da smoke" the wife and I are always looking for a some good brisket. I can smoke up some dang good brisket, but my three sons would rather have steaks, ribs and sausage off my pit. They simply do not care for anybody's brisket. better for the wife and I, cheaper for me. they can stay home!!

Home of da smoke is on US 87 just outside of Loop 1604 heading towards La Vernia. It is a small hole in the wall on the north side of the highway. Give it a shot if you are out that way.

Coopers is 100x better than County Line...please...

Cooper's has a great atmosphere, but last time I was there the line was ridiculous. Try about a quarter mile down the road at Inmans. BBQ is better (IMHO), but you don't get the same atmosphere at Coopers. FYI, locals go to Inmans 10-1 over Coopers.
