I normally just stack 'em. Most that I see are boars about 200+ lbs. I've heard the smaller ones are better if you're gonna eat 'em. When I get a small one, it's going to the freezer.

1 out of 10 also. We do alot more shooting than aiming after the first one drops, and the rest start running. So usually we have quite a few that are gut shot or too nasty to mess with.

Depends on where we are hunting. Some places we can leave the lay, some places we haul them off.

I try to eat everything I shoot or at least give it to someone that will. I teach my kids, and have been taught not to shoot/kill anything unless I am going to eat it. Or if it is a threat to me, my family, property, or someone else. That is just me.

If I'm not hunting something I must be dead.

You just affirmed the need to stack as many as you can and not worry about eating them all right there.....

Sows hit the freezer. If the boars are young and small & don't stink. I skin them too.

They are like Blue Bell ice cream around my house.

We eat all we can and we stack the rest!

I'll bring one home if the freezer is getting low. I'd rather drag them to our designated bone yard. If someone wants it fine, but I'm not cleaning it.

+1.. bring it home when I'm low in the freezer... otherwise it goes to the bone pile.

We've eaten them all so far except one 200+lb boar. We had 2 other smaller ones we had killed the same night and we were just too wore out to clean him. They make great camp meat!

If I am not going to eat it, or if I don't have someone with me that wants one....they walk. If I am going to kill it, I am going to eat it or have soemone in line that will eat it. They are not destroying our property.....I do not kill for the sport of killing.

We eat around 50% of the ones we kill the rest are left for buzzard bait.

I keep the ones that are easy to get out. If I stick one a half mile away from anywhere I can get a pickup to, they stay right there. If I can get away with dragging it a few hundred yards and then loading it up or quartering it and carrying it out that way I'll do it. Also depends on how the dogs are doing. If I have a hot or injure dog, they come first. Boar or sow it doesn't matter to me. Leave them in a cooler with some ice for a week and you won't be able to tell the difference anyway. we eat hog all the time around here.

I like the tenderloin too much to let it rot but I think it's based on the number of hogs you have on your land. I've hunted places where the hogs were so bad that they were starving out the deer population. Even if you do let a hog lie in the woods, it won't go to waste. Coyote has to eat too.
