I teach 8th grade U.S. history at San Jacinto Jr. High.
I have an idea for automatic casting real that would only require the user to aim and fire. I met a disabled fisherman a few years ago who took his wife and young daughter to the lake. He could not cast and asked me to cast for them. As a result over the past few years I have continued to search for a solution. I found a device that shoots cable through conduit and is attached to zebco real and I think with modifications it would work. I have never seen an outdoor catalog for folks with special needs. I think if I could ever perfect my idea, along with a few others, I might start a web site. I work two jobs...actually kinda three and I have little time to devote to this 3rd tinkering project.

The reels that are shown are they basically just little winches that pull in a fish? No special casting device for those that cant?

I think you are right Bullard..Most challenged folks that need help reelin 'em in ...needs help gettin the bait out there too... Maybe you can come up with a device like spiderman uses to shhot his web...not meant to be funny ...but it is doable...I think
