Never hunted deer with a shotgun. What are the pros and cons. Is it better to use buckshot or slugs?

Thanks flag

Slug or a sabot are going to give you more range.

Stick with a slug and if ya can get a scope for your shotgun. Many shotguns will give ya good groups at 100yds!

If you hunt with buck shot i have found: Remington 00 w full choke 3" shooting from my 1187 max 30 yds place bead on head of dear otherwise you will have a runner.

Only use my single shot 12 ga. when im hunting in the thick creek bottoms for that biggun. Aim for the head or neck so they dont go anywhere. 3" buckshot will knock em down!

Also, dont be afraid to shoot through a small limb!
