Hey Dad I know I can say this to you in person but sometimes its harder to say things in person. Thanks dad for this hunting season as this has been one of the best that I have ever hunted with you. Thanks for going with and sitting in the blind with me. People often ask my dad and I why we sit together and all I can say is there is nothing like having a farting contest with your dad. We never care who shoots but who every does shoot is sure to get a hug or a high five from the other. I am 22 now and have had some memorable moments in the stand but this year for some reason is one I will never forget. Thanks dad for being such a good father and even a better hunting buddy to me.

I also have to thank WES70 and Txbowhunter(Duane)for the best season I have had yet and hopefully many more to come.

Sorry guys for the mushy stuff but sometimes you just relize how lucky you are to have the people you have in your life.

Damn Cedars??? It is that DAMN West Texas dust! (snuffle) (sniff)

Well, Son, I love you too! I have to say this has been one of the most memory making years in a long long time. Like, since you got your first deer, and your wall hanger, and the 2 does you got 5 minutes apart the day we took your sister on her first hunting trip... remember that day? What a story it made!!!!

This year I got to see my grandson, your nephew, get his 1st deer. It has been great. I can not wait for next year.

I want everyone to know that we could not have done this without Duane's (txbowhunter1) help and encouragement. I know now why he is such a big fellow. He needs all that room for that big ole heart of his.

Also, a special shout out to my new hunting buddy WES70, thanks for everything. P.S. Thanks for letting me borrow your son. I can't wait to hunt with him again. His shot next time for shore!!!!!

I think I'm gonna take off a little early today. For some strange reason i have an incredible urge to go see my father and give him a big hug. He started me hunting when i was 7 and we've hunted together ever since.

Almost 50 years.

Thanks for the post guys.

Great Post. I remember my first hunt with my Dad like it was yesterday. Forest County Pennsylvania. I was 12. 2 ft of snow. 0700 He shoots a deer and says to me stay here until I come back for you. Comes back for me at dark. What an experience that was...later did I find out he had been tramping the hills to try and get one by me. We've always shared hunting and really it has been a binding part of our lives and how I got to know my grandfather before he passed. It's much more than pulling the trigger. I think we all know that.

There is nothing wrong with a man being in touch with his emotional side. I must admit, I think I'll give my dad a call tonight.

Why are you still talking, I stopped listening a long time ago!!

Thank you all for your kind words and make sure to tell your dad as well as other you love, how much they mean to you as everyday counts. If I am half the farther my dad was my kids when I have them will turn out okay.

Teach your kid to hunt
And you'll never have to hunt your kid
Dang fine rule to live by
It's what my daddy did.

From stittin in a blind
To walkin thru a field
Who ever knew those special moments
Would give a fruitful yeild

The campfires and the stories
The trips west in the truck
The time we spent together
When he shot that 8 point buck

Now I'm gettin grey headed
And dads is almost white
But come October bow opener
We still leave out Friday night.............

Great thread dcnitro. I am still fortunate enough to hunt with my dad........it's great that he and I can still go out and share such a wonderful time. Glad you get to share the same thing with yours......

DCnitro,
My dad's health isn't up to hunting much these days, but thanks for bringing back the memories.

Hope I can do the same with my own son. Great Post
