has anyone tried planting the whitetail institutes power plant? sounds like a good spring/summer plot and they say it works in pretty much any soil conditions.I,m gonna try it in april should work pretty good with all the rains we have had up in archer county.

I'm planning on throwing some seed on a new spot on our land pretty soon. I found a good funnel in a revene where they are crossing under the fence line. Gonna pop a tree stand up at the top next that fence line and let er rip. Let me know how it goes!

Well, what I mean by that, sir, is... if you was to put me and this here sniper rifle anywhere up to and including one mile of Adolf Hitler with a clear line of sight, sir... pack your bags, fellas, war's over. Amen.--SPR[image]

Seems high at $60 for 25 lbs that covers 3/4 ac. Interested to see or hear about the results.

Hey guys I should tell you that my 3rd cousin who is on my lease went to look at my food plot seed that I threw out 2 1/2 weeks ago and he said it is coming up very nicely! He said it is already about 3"s tall and a little taller in the thicker areas! I only used 1 bag of easy plot per lane and 1 bag of Throw-&-grow on top of that! I have 2 lanes, one is about 80yards long, the other is about 130 yards long! Cabelas, Academy or Gander Mountain should have the two products and I didn't use any lime or fertilizer! I am up in the piney woods of east Texas and all I did was rake the top of the ground off to the side and throw out my seed, then I walked up and down my lanes to lightly pack the seeds! I will be posting pics as soon as I get home from offshore.

The Dr. Deer seminar that I went to last Sat. said that the best year round food plot consisted of oats, chicory, and crimson clover planted in late sept. then iron & clay cowpeas planted on the same ground in march or april. Plant the oats about 2" deep then about 2 weeks later plant the chicory & clover. The chicory & clover seeds are so small that they need only a very light covering of soil. If you can plan & plant the chicory & clover right before a rain, they will do fine without dragging or packing.

Yeah, the ones I use have clover and oats and other stuff in them! They are inexpensive, require little or no prep work and the deer have already been eating it at my place from what was reported to me, tracks all in it, been eaten on too!!!
