I was watching Spirit of the Wild last night, and Uncle Ted was shooting numerous fully automatic weapons. While he was doing this he kept saying how wonderful the USA was because you could legally do things like own fully automatic weapons. Does he have the privilege of owning these guns because he is affiliated with the law enforcement? Or can anybody own these types of weapons if they fill out the right paperwork?

Anyone can, just have to have the money to afford them and the 200 dollar tax stamp. And have a clean record.

Thanks for the info...and based on the tax stamp, I will never own one! To me it's not worth the extra money just to tell your friends you have a fully auto.

The absolute cheapest you can find them are for the mac 10, tec 9. That run $3K +. AK's run $7K and your M16 run $15k+ It might be worth it to some folks but you sure have to have a lot of cash sitting around.

But if you are an honest,law-abiding citizen you should be allowed to have it if you were so inclined and could afford to feed it. . .

If you don't think it's cool, it's only because you've never done it. Check out J&G Sales. They have pretty decent prices on their autos. To me, it's just another toy. Nothing evil about the toy itself. Just requires more red tape to procure the toy.

Yes and the fact that the federal government has ZERO right to regulate firearms. And what part of shall not infringe don't they get. I hope I get selected as a juror for a federal firearm case.

I never said anything was wrong with it, or that I thought it wasn't cool...it's cool as hell! But that price tag is too steep for a normal guy like me with a normal pay check.

The tax stamp is really down in the noise. I have my TSMG for sale for $12,500.00. If you buy that from a C3 dealer, the sales tax will have you singing the blues way louder than the transfer stamp.

Get behind a 240, M2, or 249 and you'll change your tune! No lie there. First time I ripped off a 200rd belt from a 249 I swear I almost creamed my self. Then layin it down wtih the ma duce was even better. Got to kick it old school with the M1919, Thompson, MP40, STG 44 and some B.A. new stuff like an MP5SD, M4, G36, Glock 18, and an Uzi. I've got a friend that has plenty of money and a Class III dealers liscense. They olny thing I dont like about autos is feeding them... Gets a little pricey.

You also have to figure the on going cost such as ammo. That is unless you just want a conversation piece.
