My son (24) just started hunting hogs and had gotten a smaller one but he went on a trip with a buddy and got his first decent sized hog the other day near Hondo. These cell pics aren't the greatest but better than nothing. The rancher estimated 250-300 lbs.

cry My son had just called me crying the blues. He had missed a rushed shot on what he thought was a pretty good hog and he only had 1 day left to hunt and it was about too dark to see anything else. I told him not to give up, better luck tomorrow, blah, blah, blah, (you know the daddy pep talk thing grin) and we hung up.

5 minutes later he called right back! That sucker ain't getting away this time! He's on the ground! laugh

He had hung up the phone with me and started slow walking from the box and just barely heard the same exact hog munching/rooting and slipped around to get a clear shot and dropped him at about 80 yards with his 30-06. He wasn't more than 200 yards from his blind.

Apparently this hog ain't gonna learn to put more distance between him and a missed shot!

Redneck playground!

Yeah, I laughed about that too! My son decided he wanted to mount it so they swung him up like that to keep the dogs from getting to him overnight until they could cape it that morning. Which is when he took the photos right before. He was happy.

that brings up a really good point.....old swing sets make great skinning set ups.

Think about it...

one old swing set-Free

2 cheap boat winches $30

and a gambrel and you are ready to go
