3.5 if you can handle it and would go w/ anything size 4 or larger. Larger would be best, but would suffer w/ less pellets.

I'd pattern a few different ones and see what works best out to your effective range.

I use #4 Buck(not #4 shot), or BB.

All of the 4 buck I have used is 3", but I like the 3 1/2" Federal Tungston/Iron BB better.
