Thanks guys. We really like her alot. Her first night was a little rough but we made it through. She is still getting used to her new surroundings. She barks and growls at our lab.

I have been taking my Rhodesian ridgelessback (LOL)and I'm glad I didn't have him there. That thing had 2 tusks coming from both sides. he would have done some damage. Make sure you get a good protective cover for her..

Don't let that thing around you kids, you can't socialize a pit...

Oh, I had a similar conversation with an idiot, I mean, nice lady in Tractor Supply the day we got her. We were getting puppy food and other things. Her young son wanted to see so I knelt down and let him pet her. She then asked what she was and I told her. She then began the lecture on how dangerous the breed is and how they should extinct the bloodline. I tried to be polite and explain to her that not all pits are dangerous, it's how you raise them and how I'd rather be around a pit anyday but chihuahuas concern me. She kept arguing so I, in the nicest tone I could muster, to her that opinions are like, well you know, everybody has one. She looked all shocked, huffed a bit and walked off with her nutless husband in tow. He wouldn't even look at me, I think she embarassed him.

what happens if that dog doesnt want to have anything to do with hogs? not all dogs we turn out to be hog dogs. dont tell me your going to cull it?

if i had a dog for hogdoggin and it didnt work, id shoot it....just my way....

of course his dog is all full blooded and what not, so he could sell it.

She is part of the family, no way would I cull or shoot her. If she makes a good hog dog great, if not, she'll make a great pet.

i think that culling dogs to get them out of the bloodline is unethical and a waste of a dog. i understand completley about getting them out of the bloodline but to kill them just because they dont want anything to do with hunting is not right. you can easily give them an adoption agency who will find homes for them and they can make good pets for someone or a kid.

not all full blooded dogs are cut out for the job.

Just to clarify, we got her to be a pet. IF she turns out to be a hogger that'll just be a bonus. I will not try to force it on her.
