How do you know which hogs are good to eat?

All hogs are good to eat. Have ate hogs from 5 to 500 lbs. Constantly keep two hogs worth of meat in the freezer. Just killed a 280 lb boar last week and is gettin processed. Have never ran into a problem with bad meat.

I think they are all good to eat. Some people don't like big boars but there is nothing wrong with them. People say sows taste better because they aren't as gamey which I believe is true but they are all good. Be good to shoot piglets, to me they are the best.
The beauty of the Second Ammendment is it won't be needed until they try and take it.

They are the ones that are cooked!!!
Personally I like them anywhere from 30 to 100lbs... easy to handle alone, easy to clean and good eating. I've eaten bigger ones and they all taste great to me!

If they have four legs instead of 2 wheels... I'd eat it.

As long as no swelling on any part of body more or less no infections showing and they are all good to eat if prepared right.

I prefer the smaller ones that can be smoked whole.
I'm not sure how anyone can say a 250+ boar taste good. I've tried eating the big ones several time and just can't do it.

They all taste the same but the bigger hogs need to be tenderized(beat senseless). Hogs taste pretty good. Im going to say it... Hogs taste better than venison(Whitetails)

The only one that I could not get the family to eat was a small boar that had it's bladder spilled all over it - yes, my fault, guilty. My dogs did not seem to mind at all.
Other than that they have all been usable. Some tend to lend themselves to chili and spaghetti sauce more than other though.

sows taste better sometimes because they have more fat to make the meat a lil jucier... if u like that. but most of the "ima leave tht big ole boar" is because boars smell like chit, and if the hogs are very big, they are a lil more difficult to handle.

The guys that say that size matters, say that because they believe it.......all hogs are good to eat, otherwise, Do not kill them.....

I take mine to a processor near by. Usually keeps the hams for me and the rest I get ground. Just as good or better than beef for burger, chili, meatloaf, and anything you would use beef for. At lease you know what they have been eating most of the time.

The hogs from my place are great! They are totally grain fed, and the meat cooks up just as white as chicken...
I prefer them under 100, just because I only eat so much pork, and I prefer it in smaller quantities because it stays fresher. I have eaten them up to 300 pounds with no problems, but the meat gets freezer burnt before I can eat it.

Buzzards prefer hogs under 200 lbs., no cooking necessary.
