I have put a feeder up for 2 weeks now and the pigs are starting to come in now. They are coming in from 8 till 12 and later. I would like to get a kill light but I don't know what color to get red or green or white I don't think that the white would be very good at all does anyone know what color works the best

why do you say red I don't know anything about these lights at all

because red when you shine this light you can see there eyes and the light doesnt burn there eyes like a normal spot light would and if you burn there eyes they will close there eyes and possible walk away soo go with red

Put a feeder light up, don't worry about the color - they get use to it very quickly. Easy bacon...

I agree with canazes9, they'll get used to the regular light. Most of the setups I've seen have been without a filter and some with the green, but can't say I've ever seen a red filter on a feeder light. You're putting it up high so I wouldn't worry about the color burning their eyes too much. If you were spot lighting, I'd go with red, but in any color, if you put the light on their eyes it's going to burn them.

Go to Hog light.com they have some good looking lights for the feeders,and not bad on the price.

hog light didnt work as a website but i went searching and i found a couple places that had 4 led 4 inch red lights with wiring (without solar panel) for 19.99

^^ anyone know if thats a good deal. you cant even buy 4 trailer lights for under 10 a piece.

I mounted this on an 8foot long 2" PVC pipe, cut little serrations in the bottom of the PVC to keep it from pivoting (wind, animals rubbing, etc). Then I drove a T-post in a spot that would allow the light to shine the area and the solar panel to face south & up and get plenty of sun. Slipped the PVC over the top of the T-post. Easy up, easy down, works like a champ!

Except the one I have is 3 LED's, not 1 (same model number, not sure about why the discrpency).

Next time I go to the lease I'll try and take a picture of the set-up.

Light will only come on if something activates the motion sensor after dark. Takes all the guess work out of it - is something at the feeder? If yes, the light is on and you can clearly see. If no, then no light, sit back and relax.

hey David, how many did you mount? I was kind of thinking about one on each side of the feeder but for 80 bucks a pop it sounds like it is going to be expensive... Can you see clear enough on all side of the feeder if you only mounted one?

Just 1 light. I paid $99 for mine, it is the 3LED model that is supposed to put out the same amount of light as a 15watt Halogen bulb. The 3 LED light that I have mounted on top of the 8 foot pole floods an area roughly 20 yards in diameter w/ plenty of light. Through any decent scope you will be able to clearly ID your target and make the shot w/ no problems.

I often am drifting in and out of sleep while waiting for the porkers to show up. The light going on ~100 yards out seems VERY bright when you've been sitting in the dark and pops me wide awake! You can tell whether the deer that show up is a buck or a doe, decent rack or not, etc. Bucks don't seem to want to step into the circle of light, often see them circling the perimeter, sometimes they go in more often not - you can see them pretty good when they are between the light and the stand even though they are not lit up. One light shines plenty of light to make a shot on a pig!
