A lot of people like Chippewas
The beauty of the Second Ammendment is it won't be needed until they try and take it.

Short of rubber boots, which I detest, I have never found any waterproof boots that stay that way. I currently wear Chippewas (style 23922) which took me about 5 seasons to break in enough that I can stand to spend the day walking in them. Now, they are quite comfortable, and when treated with Obenauf's leather treatment, do a reasonable job on keeping most water on the outside when used as an upland boot. Would I recommend them for waterfowlers? No. I do not use the zipper installed on the back side of the boot shaft. I do not believe the nylon zipper will hold up for long if is used regularly, even tho being older not as agile as I once was, that was the feature that sold me on them in the first place.

I have had a pair of rockies four years. Most comfortable hunting boots I have ever had. x2, I have a pair of Rockies lace-ups that I bought about 9 years ago. In fact, I just gave them a "tune-up" with some new in-sole inserts yesterday. They're still waterproof and it's like wearing a pair of running shoes. I prefer lace-ups to pull-ons because they fit my feet lots better. They take a few moments longer to put on in the morning vs. pull-ons, but if I'm in that big a hurry I need to find another hobby.

I just got a pair of these... RedHead Zip-On Bayou Snake Boots
I haven't put them through a serious water test(or snake test for that matter), but they are very comfortable. I would mention something though. I would consider my calves to be normal sized, definitely not overly muscled or fat, and these boots are a teeny bit snug towards the top. If you tend to have large calves, you should try these on at a store to make sure of the fit. Oh, and I also got them a half size larger than normal.
The early bird might get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.

Yes they were a good price and yes you got the best deal because thats what you bought, but who has tested them by snake and not just water?

I have a pair of chippewa snake proof engineer's boots and a pair of cabela's snakeproof boots. I like the Cabela's boots better for cold or wet weather just because they're synthetic and insulated.
She was only a whiskey maker, but he loved her still.
