I'm interested in a bulk ammo buy for .223 ammo..
Not really sure what I want to buy yet.. I would be interested in a couple thousand rounds myself. If anyone has been thinking of doing one as well, or knows of the best deal out there, PM or post here.. Let's put one together.
I'll do the ordering, and arrange a couple of meetings to get it divided up..
Heck, aside from Natchez, I don't even know where to start looking !!

I may be interested in a 1000 rds if we could get a good deal together. I have been buying Ultramaxx 55 gr SP by the 50 rd box for $21 at my local hardware store so it would need to be considerably cheaper than that.

If this is brass cased ammo then I would be interested at that price.

What is the advantage of the group buy? I assume the more thousands of rounds purchased the cheaper price?

At 22-24 cents per round, does it really matter if it's brass or steel cased?
You can't reload for 24 cents per round, if you have the brass.
Cheap bullets are 14-18 cents each.. Surely powder and time are worth more than the other 6-8 cents per round..

outdoormarksman.com loads their own ammo - I've tried 223 and 308. Good stuff and good prices.
They might be willing to deal on a big order, but since demand is high anyway, they might be less willing.

I don't reload. I also don't like to shoot the dirty steel cased stuff.

Good luck guys. Hope it all works out for ya.

I only shoot my reloads thru mine. I have some loads that are at $.10/ round not counting the brass. The brass was new, but has been loaded a few times and has definately saved me quite a bit.

I'd be interested in some bulk soft point ammo. It's easy to find FMJ, but bulk SP is way harder to come by.

Heck, Driller's $21/50 sounds great to me for Ultramax 55 gr SP. Let's just all go to his hardware store and stock up...

It's at Pughes Hardware in Grand Saline. They also have Ultramax 55 gr JHP for $23. Good thing I have plenty as I have already turned one fellow onto it through PM.

Could always contact Ultramax directly to see what a bulk order would cost.

Ultramax will only sell to licensed dealers... Tried them.. frown
Maybe sig226fan (Vernon) will chime in here and see if he could work us up a deal on some.. I'll buy 2-3000 rounds if so..

I am still game if it's a "good deal" and I could also use about 500 rds of .40 cal.

If you have your brass, the current cost of reloading 223 is approximately:
$0.09 -Bullet 50/55gr soft point from Midsouth Supply
$0.03 -Primer
$0.07 -Powder (based on 25gr/~$20/lb)

Cost per round: about $0.19 and my time

Powder and primers via Powder Valley Supply

Higher than ever, but still a lot cheaper than factory stuff. Add a premium bullet, still cheaper.
My reloading gear cost was absorbed MANY years ago...:)

The only deal with the 200 round pack. They can not order the ammo. With as many stores that pull from the one warehouse the ammo is allocated. they sell it faster than it comes in. Would not make a special trip call first. They have other ammo for the 223 but I buy the 200 ct box as is is the cheapest that i have found.

I just saw a post where Vernon was asking if anybody wanted to get to do a bulk purchase, not sure if he has already done it or not...
