You do falconry??? If so post pics. Had an ER doc that lived down the street from me about 5 years ago that had a big [censored] falcon. He showed it to me but I never got to see it in action. That would be badass. I hear there are all kinds of rules and hoops you have to jump through even to own one.

Well, I have always been well rounded with my hunting and fishing even during duck season, but in the coming days and weeks....things I will do or would like to do.

Sandhill Crane hunt. A last ditch try on Saturday. Maybe.
Snipe till the 28th. A two day run to NW Louisiana for Snipe.
Conservation Geese. Not seeing them this year, but if anyone wants a tag along, I have around 150 nice decoys to bring.
Oklahoma Crow Season till March 4. I go every year at least once.
Hog hunting on my Deer Lease till the end of Turkey Season.
Predator control on the lease, calling and trapping.
Spring Turkey hunts. I have all my tags still.
Stock the freezer with Whites and Hybrids during the upcoming spawning runs.
Do a Paddlefish Snagging day in OK.
Work the Catfish on the DFW lakes as well as via kayak creek and river fishing. Target all three species. R&R & Juglines.
Yo Yo trips on the Red!
Chase some non traditional fish like Gator Gar and Choupique for the fun of it.
Go after some record fish with my son including reclaiming our two IGFA world records that fell last year.
Find an Okie willing to teach me how to Noodle! I will always regret not taking my Grandfather up on it.
Kayak the Red for Stripers as well as a goal of one freezer filling 50-100 fish spotted bass day.
Get the wife out kayaking and canoeing with me more.
Spring Squirrel hunt if I ever find a worthwhile place to hunt them again.
And maybe some Skeet and Sporting Clay shooting.

I can't fit it all in, but those options should get me through the Spring.

I have never successfuly done it, don't or did not know know when, where, or all the hows, but is something I have been figuring out. I failed the only two times I tried, but I have learned a lot, so this may be the year. up Like duck hunters, it seems OK paddlefish snaggers in the less traditional locations are real protective of the info. Especially to Texans. But with OK now making a profit with the caviar sales in supporting the stocking program, they have become very helpful to anyone that asks.

You can watch them snaggin from my parent's back porch. I could get 4-5 pretty much anytime. Often on the first cast I'd be hooked up.

I want to do a fish smackdown, the last couple of years I've had fishing-related "projects" and they have got in the way of me just having fun...

looking forward to shooting some tilapia in the face,
catching some reds,
sight casting to some alligator gar,
sight casting to 20+ longnose gar,
poling flats for little spotted gars,
sight fishing for carp and buffalo,
and maybe catch a pickerel and bass or two.

In addition I am feeling hungry for the meat of fish with stripes on it so maybe some blitz fishin or night fishin. Not gonna probably get to the coast this year, at least if I do not more than once, so I'll have to spend more time chasing the carp and pretending they're redfish or sheepshead.

I had planned to spend two weeks or more bouncing around the Trans Pecos Big Bend area "last month", but I cancelled due to my Father having heart surgery that was scheduled right in the middle of my hunt dates. Might take a second try at that next year, but who knows what I will do.

Maybe I'm just old, but the biggest thing I'm doing for the two weeks after the season is sleeping 9 hours a night. sleep2

Then in order it's:
- Quail
- Blue cats
- Black bass
- Turkey
- White and Hybrid bass
- Crappie

Hog and squirrel, when and where I can find 'em. Maybe conservation goose if I'm lucky.

Lake Ft. Gibson. It's a blast! Gotta get some specialized equipement tho, isn't something you can do with just any old rod. Fishing off the wall, and there's alot of people. Took me a month just to learn the culture and etiquitte.

I went to scout for pigs the other day and found what would have been my money spot if it was still season. I have never seen so many pintail before. Thousands of birds. hammer I just sat down on a log and watched as the ducks and geese continued to pour in.
