Actually we're pretty sure it's just one or two.
So there's this loser that has a place about 1/4 mile off our back fence. When he was a kid, my grandfather caught him on our land and broke his gun in two right in front of him.
Said loser (tweaker) grew up and had a couple sons of his own. These sons (tweakers) picked up where daddy left off. My cousin is walking down the trail to our back stand when someone yells at him from one of our other stands that he passes by. He calls his brother who hauls arse down there. The poacher jumps out of the treestand and takes off running.
We know who they are. The problem is that they are in and out of jail all the time already, so what is three hots and a cot to them?
I've already talked to the game warden and given him the gate combination. His jurisdiction is two large counties, though.
To his credit, I have seen him driving our road. However, these losers come in from the back side thru some gnarly brush. Our roads are so muddy that the GW would get stuck if he tried to get back there.
I'm at a loss, really. We're gonna have to catch 'em in the act, maybe some strategically placed game cams....

Definitley lots of hogs. I work with a guy that just killed 3 piglets. There were a coupl of monster bucks killed on a highway south of Canton during the rut. Game wardens picked them up and are going to have them mounted.

yeah i have had a problem with them on my pond, and couple of shots over there head ended that pretty quick. I just set a feeder up and have seen deer tracks all over the property but i cant get them to show up during the day. i heard about the ones that were hit on the road and saw pictures, was pretty excited to see deer of that quality out there.

I agree there are alot of poachers, and 2 good Game Wardens, one of the deer was killed less than a mile from the city limit sign, You may want to talk to th sheriff also, but if 3 hots and a cot does not bother them, you may just have to come up with another plan,

Some good deer but they are spotty. One of those monster bucks ya'll are referring to was actually ran over north of Edgewood. Covered up with hogs though.

Just wondering. Do you know where they park it? Are there rattle snakes on your property?

What part of Van Zandt County are you hunting. I have a place just SW of Canton around FM47 & FM90 that I see a good number of deer on. Like Driller said though, the good bucks are spotty.I have lived there for 3 yrs now and just saw the first signs of hogs on it yesterday.
No doubt about the AR crap, just damn shame hunters don't have self control and knowledge

i have seen deer in van zant county on several occasions, but not any hogs. good luck with the poachers, there were some on a lease that i was on last year, and there was nothing that could be done about it, because there it was the locals, and they knew the woods better than you/we ever could.
