I just can't bring myself to a trust level regarding someone on craig's list selling guns.

Your not suppose to list them there, but people do anyway. They usually delete them pretty quick, but sometimes you get lucky and find one before its deleted.

If you find a gun ad on CL, write the reply address or ph # down quick. if you leave and come back to it, it will be gone.

Last month we had a gun on the Abilene Craig's List. Heading was hunting supplies, opened it up and he had a deer rifle with ammo for sale, lasted for a few days so I guessed he sold it.

Anytime I buy a gun from anyone, I tell them upfront I am going to have the serial numbers ran and I get their name and DL number.Local sheriffs dept. will be glad to run them. I have had guns stolen in the past and anyone trying to sell a "hot" one is just as guilty as the person who stole it.

I too have bought guns on Craigslist. You have to be creative in your search terms, but they are there.

You can find them on CL. I see them a lot in the DFW section. They do get flagged pretty quick though so if you find one you better keep the info. Lots of folks just advertise hunting equipment or stuff and email for details.

Or if you come across a title for something like:
Dove and quail getter
Come and See it at 1187 Remington lane
or email for details
These will last a little longer

Have SO or PD check serial # and be ready to give it up if its stolen. Make sure to get sellers information for a starting point in the investigation if it does come back stolen. Hopefully it won't.

It sucks that it has to be thats way but thats what the world has come to.
