Well, it has been one heck of a year...even though it was slow at times, I still managed to do fairly well.
But I must say today was very fittin'!!!!!!
I found some sheet water holdin' a fair amount of ducks...and some Geese. I hollered at Ole' Kelly to meet me in the morning as we were goin' give it one last whirl at the ducks and Geese.
I packed the truck with 4 dozen full body mallards, and dozen bigfoots...Layouts and dog blind...
Got to the spot, and the water had receeded some, but I still had a nice spot to set up. (not far off the "X")
Put out the decoys in kinda U shape, and put the bigfoots to our left...Had the makings of a SE wind, cloudy and snow was starting to fall...

LST comes around and we start having flocks of 25-50 come off the river...and start hittin' the spread...

Before we knew it there was 500 Mallards, pintails, widgeon and gadwalls forming a tornado and pilin' into our decoys!!!!!!!!!! (Absolutely FREEKIN awesome!)
Kelly and I just sat there and watched! It was incredible... We had dozens of mallards, gadwalls and pintails walking around, (literally) within' feet of our layouts...
Finally as they "naturally" started gettin up I picked out the biggest sprig and so did Kelly and took them...There was SO many birds that we didn't flock shoot for fear of killin a dozen pintails with one shot.
We then shot a couple mallards, and as "BO" returned with them, we heard GEESE!!!!!

We had 2 "BIG" Canada's come cupped up into the spread! We pulled up droppin' both! As Bo returned with #1 bird, we heard MORE Geese!!!! We Started calling and 4 headed towards us! We Pulled up and dropped 2, then the other 2 flew off, but we called them back! (Whalin' on the call) and we dropped another one!!!! Out of 6 birds we dropped 5!!!

We went on to have flock after flock, after flock of ducks hit our spread...(100's)!!!!!
We waited on the "GREEN" but it wasn't happenin'...

So we started pickin' "Drake" Gadwalls...and shot 7 of them to finish our limit...

But before the last bird was shot....
We Had a Coyote come runnin' into our decoys....Kelly pulled up with a "DEAD COYOTE" shell, fired "ONE" time and rolled it!!!!!! It was incredible...at 40 yards he smoked it...stone cold dead...I have NEVER seen anything like that...

So, after the smoke cleared, we had: 2 Pintail drakes, 2 mallard drakes, 1 mallard hen, 7 gadwall drakes, 5 Canada geese and 1 Coyote!!!!!!

What a Way to end the season!!!!!!
