Does anyone have any data for Barnes TSX 150gr. 30/30
bullets other than the Barnes on-line data?
The only powder I saw listed that I use is WIN748.
I'd really like to use H4895 or RL15,they're fairly
close as far as burning rates and such, but I hate to
just strike out on my own without some kind of
published data. Thanks in advance for any help!

Your going to put a a TSX in a 30-30?

With the 150gr TSX in a 30-30 try

30gr Benchmark
33gr of IMR-4064
34gr Varget
34gr RL-15
33gr of H4895

All of these are a couple of grains from max charge and should get you started.

is it a bolt action or lever...If a lever i'd probley stay away.

But personally I would think the 30-30 is to slow for a TSX...

Thanks for the concern. . .
the Barnes in question is the new 150gr. flat nose made
specific for 30/30's. I'm not green enough to use spitzers
in a tube-fed rifle,although I've seen a few that are.
I'm interested in finding a load for these so I'll always
have ammo up the spout for whatever may step out, regardless
of gristle-bone-big teeth-etc.

I did find a issue of Guns and Ammo at the used book store
this morning with H4895 data that I wanted for TSX

150gr. 30/30 TSX FP
H4895 33.0gr. 2189FPS with Fed. case and CCI200 primer

I've always felt 30/30's were underated as hunting rifles
and when Hornady came out with that LeveRevolution ammo,
it just validated what I thought.

Not sure why it is under rated, but they work perfectly for our furry rodents!! I was thinking about one for my son for his first rifle someday. Will probably go w/ a lever gun also.
