Yet you still do it??? Thats what I'm up to. Despite the 3 inches of rain and the reported 2 feet of snow in New Mexico we are headed out in the morning for duck hunting. This just might get intresting. Gonna bring along a chain, shovel and extra gas along with our other duck BS, as well as extra smokes and snuff in case we are stuck like chuck!!! Wish us luck!

Oh yeah packing a chain as well!

I'm going through the same process on an Oklahoma or Arkansas trip. Watching weather.com like it's a pay-per-view fight.

You boys better be careful. Guy on the Weather Channel just said it's gonna get bad in the panhandle, into OK and NM. Calling for a couple inches of ice, then snow. Good luck.

Intellicast.com is the best weather provider I have found. Especially for hunting. Take a gander at it.

A few years ago a buddy(Bucks and Ducks) and I decided to go ahead and head to the lake even though the roads were completely iced over and more sleet/snow/rain was on the way. I don't know what the hell we were thinking, but we ended up getting quick limits...

so I guess that's why we do it confused2

We were the only ones on the lake.

Was that the time the boat wouldn't start and Blane had to bring the pull cord to us?

Good times

One of the most memorable duck hunts I ever went on was many years ago when Caddo Lake was frozen over. That was wild!!!

The only time I was second guessing myself going on a hunt was a few years ago during a nasty ice storm. I drove to my spot by myself. No one else was out or on the roads. Sat in the freezing cold and ice without seeing anything for a while. Then I got my first canvasback drake. The trip was well worth it! Good luck and be safe!!!

F that... I would have walked around the lake to the ramp before I tried to paddle all the way across. I'm sure we could have hitched a ride, but yea I'm sure we didn't have a paddle anyways hammer
