Ford, game wardens will tell you more 24/7 deer hunting (poaching) goes on in South Texas than East Texas.

Guess I'll jump on the bandwagon that deer hunting in east texas is horrible. More folks in the area shouls look into hunting other areas of the state so we can have deer make it past 2.5 yrs old.

East Texas has the most deer as far as population and I have enjoyed hunting here and living here for the past 10 years. I am lucky to have the lease I do and I agree with millerliteliker when he said to plant food plots cuz the deer here in East Texas are pickyu and tough to lure out of the woods when the acorns are plentiful. ??? Any East Texas guy will tell you that's wrong. Hill Country and South Texas typically have the most deer.

x2. east texas aint worth a damn. yall should just quit hunting the piney woods all together. rumor has it the entire southeastern nacogdoches county area and directly across the river is the worst of them all. fixed it for you.

y'all are all crazy, From what I read on another thread, AR's killed all the deer in East Texas. Those killed above must have been pre AR days....lol. Carry on. Nice bucks by the way.
If you shoot a young deer because a neighbor will shoot it, you are that neighbor.

Chances are most of them were killed pre-ARs....you think that many were taken since the ARs (more so the ones in jbs8307's pictures)? I doubt it. But wait, if that's the case....doesn't look like to me we needed ARs in East Texas to begin with. Carry on.

those deer on the wall were shot over a period of fourteen years by different members. The only one thats mine is the nine on the top right. since i posted this there was a 140 inch eleven point also killed but i dont have a pic. I dont know why everyone is so against letting tpwd decide what you can and cant shoot (antler restrictions) we have been mld 3 for 12 years and it is paying off apparently. But we are a "you shoot it you mount it lease" And we do not allow any night hunting or shooting from vehicles even for hogs.

Yep, looks like we've been in need of ARs.

lol, don't think ARs come into play with those above. But this is weird..... a feeder in East Texas and there is a buck or two under it during daylight hours.
