Does anyone have any reports about the blue quail around Midland and Odessa? My hunting buddies are wanting to give it a try, but I'm not sure I want to CHASE those suckers. Any reports would be appreciated. THANKS Ga Dog 2

Don't know about down theer but ours in the northern panhandle have been going really down hill in the last three years... Those blues are hell on dogs if they are use to Bob's.

Did not see a single blue this year in Wellington. Last year was the same. Only 2 times in my life I didnt find blues around the old homeplace. Sad.....

I figure it's got to be a fire ant problem, and Sanderson is too dry for fire ants. It is a real shame that quail are being wiped out and it seems to be some uncontrolable that is doing the damage.

According to everything I have read, fireants thin out quickly west of I35.

They have really dropped off. Dale Rollins is beginning to suspicion a disease of some kind. Asking hunters to check the livers of birds shot for spots on the liver and report same to him.

I am here where you wanna go and I can tell you first hand it is mighty slim pickens. Finding fewer and fewer birds and those we do find are last years birds. Blues are wild enough but these are wild a$$ ape XXXX birds. They flush wild and run forever, the few you see. 4 of us are paying to go to West Texas Wings this saturday just so we can have a hunt, spending all day walking for 5 birds is too tough.

Thanks and Gig'em Mark A. Fairchild

I've seen them in Martin Co and Gaines Co. But not nearly the numbers we saw 4 or 5 years ago. There was a time that you couldn't pick them up fast enough after you shot them to get off the next shot. CRAZY! But those days are gone.
