JUST WONDERING WHO MIGHT HAVE AN OPINION ABOUT THESE TWO ORGINIZATIONS. I HAVE BEEN A DU MEMBER FOR YEARS AND JUST SWITCHED TO DELTA. THOUGHT THEY MIGHT BE MORE USER FRIENDLY.

Why switch? Both are good organizations. I think Delta does more with less for the ducks, but DU still has their heart in the right place.
I think we should all support both. The ducks need them both. Plus, both magazines are still pretty good.

..here we go... That was my first thought when I saw this thread.

And delta in a sponser huh cable........ Wrong, they are a partner. I wouldn't ask for and get no money- nada from them. I am honored to have their link on my website as a partner. In the works with DU to have theirs added as well. I support just about all conservation efforts. I love them both!

Someone please correct me if I am wrong because I am new enough to just get what information I am given.
It appears to me that DU is more focused on the duck's environment and habitat and DW is more focused on the ducks and their breeding.
Sounds like to me both are great organizations that are trying to do what is best for the ducks.

Depends which chapter you are with. Now im a DELTA man all the way. I even started a chapter, but I left my chapter because to many TRUST FUND babys worked there way into the committe, and started treating people that didnt look like they came from the west side of FT Worth like they were peasants. Im not talking about them treating committe members that way, Im talking about people coming to the banquet. It made me so mad I left that chapter. Im looking for a new chapter now.

delta seems to gain marketshare ofer du. 10 years ago, i remeber being at an action of du in addison. i was bidding on a beautiful 20 gauge, the bidding slowed down at 1000 dollars, but there was that one guy who suddenly start to bid all the way to 1600 dollars, i stopped at 1500. 15 minutes later when i left my seat and went to the bathroom, a man approached me saying the other bidder could not come up with the money. i hear these stories ALL THE TIME, people from DU bidding against you to jack up the price. That is not respectfull to us. Might as well just cut a check. They also have fierless reputation to get you drunk and show up with unnesseary DU girls to get you in the right mood to bid, this looked like a strippclub. I am surry, but beside the DU magasine and their license plate, i wont give a dime more. i hear good things about delta though.

How many outdoor/hunting related fund-raising events have you been to??? DU did not invent this tactic and several organizations use ticket girls to boost sales for the events, the money collected at banquets is donated to each organization's cause. If your blaming DU for getting you drunk, maybe you need to look in the mirror next time you have a hangover and it sounds like you need to stay away from strip clubs also!

I'm more likely to go to the banquet when there's lots of beer, lots of good food, and lots of pretty women. It's called marketing. It gets people and money in the door to have a good time and help support an organziation that raises money for an obsession we all have. I'd take that over going to a stale banquet hall with tea and a bunch of boring rich guys bidding on a gun or two. Not saying thats what Delta's banquets are like, I've only been to DU banquets. I'm not in anyway putting down delta, just defending DU.
