I only hunt private tanks / leases but have a question that I have found no answer. Called local Warden but didnt get returned call. Local Deputy suggested it is legal to hunt ANYWERE on lake, as long as you are not harming anything (TPWD rules respected).

I do not buy that!!! what are the rules? There is a slew inside a cove near my weekend home that is loaded w Mallards.

I know that you cannot use private land for access or hunting, but can I anchor up (not moving obviously)/ or stand in water and shoot out into open if I am within 100-200 yards of homes? Is there a yardage? I only hunt private tanks / leases but have a question that I have found no answer. Called local Warden but didnt get returned call. Local Deputy suggested it is legal to hunt ANYWERE on lake, as long as you are not harming anything (TPWD rules respected).

PLEASE HELP ME! Thanks

The reason he didn't return your call is b/c he realized you were a total lackey who needs to read the regulation book.

Tell the GW that everyone on the THF said I was okay. You should be fine!

I'm just pissed that the Cowboys lost and it's such a treat to get a guy like you on here.

Hey how many ducks can I shoot? Can I hunt here? What kind of duck is this?

I honestly wish there were more guys like you, it would make killing my limit a lot easier.

Here you go lackey, read this front to back before ever chambering a round and then you will be like the rest of us:

by the way, don't you think I checked the website before my post?

Lets try this again. Since Hunting is a gentleman's sport, if anyone knows the answer to my questions, please let me know.

Greekangler,
For the questions your asking you actually need to contact the Tarrant County Water Control District and get the hunting rules for that lake, not just State regulations.

There is a link with most of the water control district's and river authority contact information including Tarrant County in a sticky post at the top of our Land and Leases forum under public lands. I just happen to know that that is the one for Cedar Creek. They have a published general ordinance that addresses what is or is not allowed for that lake for all recreation activities.

I would try some local marinas. I know people do hunt on CC. I would def want to read the laws from the law makers, but marinas can be a big help in direction. GW's are really bizzy this time of the year.

yes, deer season- didnt think about that. will do. I was told you cannot hunt from boat, which is not what TPWD regs say, as long as motor off, and "sail is down"

Pretty funny
