Nice buck. Grew up in Hondo, sure do miss it. Where's your ranch or lease.

hard too say, position of deer makes things seem out of proportion, based on belly sag and loose skin on face I would say 5.5 maybe a little older. I am not familar with deer in that part of state however.

agree that it is hard to tell from one picture.

but size of neck, length of legs proportionate to body makes me think this guy is 3.5

Stuff my dad said in the deer blind

"did you do that?"

rsquared, I agree the legs look long, It looks to me like the neck line is being exagerated by the shoulder with leg up. His rear looks narrow as well. The belly is just throwing me off.

I was gonna say 3.5, but I'm not terribly good at this.

Old enough to take a dirt nap...

At first galance I thought due to the neck being small that he was young. When I look overall and see wide face and sagging belly I think 3.5 or 4.5 its kinds hard to tell from this pic.

I thought the same thing at first glance but this buck is really wierd! He looks 3.5 in some areas, 4.5 in other, and 5.5 in other. I'd hate to stake my rep on this one it is tough but if I had to take a shot I'd say 4.5

High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

3.5....still too young in face....not heavy in the neck or brisket area.

he'll be a nice buck in 2 years....where you hunting at?

My first guess would be 4.5 years, however, once you look at the small neck and hind quarters, I would say a very healthy 3.5 year old deer...2 more years min.

I was going to take a stab at 3.5-4.5. The drought seemed to have the deer we watch out towards hondo pulled down.... then again I quit watching them after rifle season opened.

Ya I really toyed with it becuase of his face and jaw line are 3.5-4.5, but legs and rear end just can't get him there IMO

But we all know what camera angles can do.

hocks what really got me.. add in that and fact he might be protien hound...
